Regional Technical Engagement Manager, APAC, ICANN

Champika Wijayatunga is the Regional Technical Engagement Manager for Asia Pacific at the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). He represents ICANN in technical, security, law enforcement, and capacity-building forums primarily in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to ICANN, Champika held managerial, specialist, and liaison roles at APNIC – the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the Asia Pacific. He started his career with IBM Corporation as a technical specialist, and has worked in the IT industry, academia, research, and training environments. 

Champika holds a postgraduate degree in Computer Science & Engineering, as well as Professional Education qualifications in Cybersecurity. He also serves in various technical community groups and committees.

Dr. Ajay Data

Dr. Ajay Data is an award-winning techno-commercial Founder & CEO of multiple technology companies. Data Xgen Technologies received global recognition for bringing first-of-its-kind linguistic email addresses technology supporting email IDs in Hindi, Gujrati, Tamil, Telugu, Cyrillic, Chinese, Marathi plus 20 more languages. 

He had been investing and mentoring start-ups, and very actively contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. 

He regularly speaks on various platforms like IGF, TIE, iSpirt, IAMAI, NEN, ICANN, FICII, CII for entrepreneurship, Internet Governance, Universal Acceptance, technology, and innovations. 

He became the first Indian to be elected as Chair of the global organisation – the Universal Acceptance Steering Group. Dr. Data is the Managing Director of Data Group of Industries with a team of 3000+ employees and a sought-after leader by young entrepreneurs for mentoring and guidance.

Graeme Bunton

Director, DNS Abuse Institute

Graeme Bunton is the Executive Director of the DNS Abuse Institute, an initiative dedicated to developing collaborative and innovative methods of reducing DNS abuse. Graeme has over 11 years of DNS policy experience. Prior to heading the DNS Abuse Institute, he was the Head of Policy for Tucows and served as Chair of ICANN’s Registrar Stakeholder Group for four years. Graeme was one of the driving forces behind the ‘Framework to Address Abuse’, a new set of guidelines and principles for addressing online harms, which was adopted by more than 50 registries and registrars. He helped found the Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto, and currently serves as Board Chair of the Internet Infrastructure Coalition.

Han Zhang

Senior Software Engineering Manager, Salesforce

Han Zhang joined Salesforce in 2016. He is currently a Senior Software Engineering Manager on the DNS team. The team has deployed DNSSEC on various very large zones. Han has also given presentations in DNS-OARC, APNIC, and IETF. 

Han holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University. His research interests include network security and network measurement.

Jacob Williams

General Manager, Domain Services Interlink Co., Ltd.

Jacob manages the .earth, .moe, and .osaka registries for Interlink, a Tokyo-based Internet services provider. In 2012, he navigated the application process for eight new Top-Level Domains (TLDs) resulting in the delegation of seven TLDs covering generic, brand, geographic, and community applications. In addition to running generic TLDs, he also manages the operations for brand TLDs.

Jacob has over a decade of experience with domain names on the brand protection front, handling domain disputes, securing aftermarket domains for clients, as well as registrar and registry operations.

Martin Tang

Exabytes Malaysia

Martin found his passion for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) during his 6 years of employment at Exabytes as a digital marketer. His proven track records include assisting to maintain over 100 keywords on the first page of all Exabytes division websites.

Moreover, with the experience of managing more than 50 SEO clients of Exabytes Digital, Martin is a true expert in helping companies to grow their business online.

Content marketing is also his forte. To date, Martin has published over 70 weekly digital marketing videos for Exabytes across Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. Furthermore, he is also an expert in corporate and event photography.

Mastura Mukhtar

Lead, IT Services

MYNIC Berhad

Mastura Mukhtar is a Lead, IT Services from MYNIC with over ten years of extensive experience in the domain name industry. Her primary role is in supporting infrastructure to facilitate DNS applications, as well as managing DNS and DNSSEC for Malaysia’s country code top-level domain (.my). 

With MYNIC as the official .MY domain registry, this position is crucial in maintaining the technical operations of DNS and DNSSEC to ensure the normal operation of systems and services. This involves incident handling, troubleshooting, and providing second-level support to resolve technical issues regarding DNS and DNSSEC, as well as the domain name operations.

Leveraging on her background and experiences, she is also responsible for providing training and awareness on the adoption of DNS Security to various sectors, including government and financial institutions, for securing DNS services.

Merike Kaeo

DNS Security Facilitation Initiative Technical Study Group (DSFI-TSG) Coordinator

Merike Kaeo is currently the CISO at Uniphore and has over 25 years of experience in pioneering Internet technology deployments and developing strategic security initiatives.

Merike instigated and led the first security initiative for Cisco Systems in the mid 1990s and authored the first Cisco book on security, Designing Network Security, which was translated into multiple languages and widely used in security accreditation programs. She has held a variety of executive leadership positions and has a deep-rooted history in the global Internet community having contributed to organizations such as NANOG, APNIC, RIPE, ARIN, LACNIC, IGF, IETF, FIRST and ISOC. She is a frequently sought-after panelist and keynote speaker for disseminating and promoting strategies to create stable, resilient and safe digital environments.

Since 2010, she has been on ICANN’s Security and Stability Advisory Council (SSAC), and served as the SSAC Liaison to the board from 2018 thru 2021.

Mingkai (Mike) Zhang

DNS Software Engineer, Alibaba Cloud

Mike Zhang joined Alibaba in 2021. As a DNS software engineer, he is currently responsible for DNS system monitoring and reliability related works. Prior to joining Alibaba, Mike used to work at CNNIC (China Internet Network Information Center) for seven years. 

Mohamad Shidiq Purnama

Chief Registry Operator, Pengelola Nama Domain Internet Indonesia (PANDI)

Shidiq joined PANDI in 2008 as the IT Engineer until now as the Chief Registry Operator since 2020. He is tasked to ensure the operational in PANDI including DNS, Registry System, Security, and other operational aspect is running well.

Shidiq has also contributed to several project in PANDI such as build in house registry system, DNSSec, Anycast DNS, s.id as url shortened (https://s.id) and u.id single sign on based on national identity (https://u.id)

Shidiq holds a Master’s in Management, Bhayangkara University, Indonesia, and Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from State Islamic University Jakarta, Indonesia. He is also a Certified ISO 27001 Lead Implementer and CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker).

Prissilla John

Case Counsel, Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC)

As a Case Counsel at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Prissilla manages a diverse caseload of international and domestic arbitration, adjudication, and mediation proceedings. Aside from the daily case management works, Prissilla is also involved in various ADR related projects at the AIAC. Prior to joining the AIAC, Prissilla practiced as a lawyer where she had advised and acted as co-counsel in matters pertaining to Construction & Engineering, International & Domestic arbitration, as well as General Litigation.

Susan Lien

With more than 9 years of experience in the digital brand protection and domain industry, Susan is skilled in helping FORTUNE Global TOP 500 to manage their digital brand portfolio and safeguard their online brand assets. Currently, she manages portfolio of digital brands, including PETRONAS, F&N, HUAWEI, BURSA MALAYSIA, MSIG, GREAT EASTERN LIFE, WESTERN UNION, Singapore Government Sector, as well as brands from other industries such as Banking Groups, Tyre & Manufacturing, Retail Convenience Store Chain, Resource-Based Industrial etc.

Yuichi Yokoi

General Manager of the Corporate Communication Office Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd (JPRS)

Yuichi joined Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd (JPRS) in 2012. Currently, as a General Manager of the Corporate Communication Office, he is in charge of public relations and advertising of JPRS. He is also responsible for planning and managing JPRS’s websites and recently has been focusing on planning and managing web contents with SEO in mind.

Md Fariz Ahmad Sanusi

Chief Marketing Officer, MYNIC

Md. Fariz Ahmad Sanusi is the Chief Marketing Officer of MYNIC, an agency under The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia which is the official registry operator for .MY domain names. He joined MYNIC in 2018.

He holds an MBA majoring in strategic transformation and also a Certified Transformation Leader from Chartered Management Institute of United Kingdom. With more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development and transformational strategy. He is a familiar face and frequently invited to share his knowledge in public forums on local SME digital transformation and represents MYNIC at federal level in the digital economy blueprint and improvement task force.

Min Feng

International Affairs Manager, 22net, Inc.

Min Feng works at the domain name registrar 22net, Inc. She has been in the domain name industry for ten years. Her role in 22.cn is as the International Affairs Manager.

Hong-Fu (Tom) Meng

Researcher, NETalent and Net-Chinese

With several years of practical experience related to Internet policy, ICANN relations, and DNS abuse (CSCM), Hong-Fu is quite familiar with the policies and trends of the Internet. As such, he takes advantage of his professional knowledge to provide broad research work in NETalent that was established in 2021 and has already taken the lead in Taiwan in removing illegal criminal, infringing and fraudulent content from the website. In addition, he also serves in Net-Chinese which was established in 2000 and it is an ICANN accredited registrar. Moreover, his first ICANN Meeting was ICANN 60 Abu Dhabi. With proactive participation in every ICANN Meeting, he not only grasps the latest information and industry trend to enhance his knowledge background but also contributes himself to the global Internet.

Geoff Huston

Chief Scientist, APNIC

Geoff Huston AM is the Chief Scientist at APNIC, the Regional Internet Registry for the Asia Pacific. He has worked in and one the Internet for the past 35 years. He was responsible for building the first Internet platform in Australia in the early 1990s, AARNet, for the higher education and research sector, and then worked for Telstra where he constructed their national and international Internet platforms. He joined APNIC to concentrate on research programs in 2005. He is an active member of the IETF, and has authored 44 RFCS. He was a member of the Internet Architecture Board, and has chaired a number of Working Groups. His current research interests include measurement, routing, security, and the intersection between economics, public policy and technology. Jia-Rong Low

Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement and Managing Director, APAC, ICANN

Jia-Rong Low joined ICANN in August 2013. He is currently the Vice President, Global Stakeholder Engagement, and concurrently Managing Director for the Asia Pacific (APAC) regional office. Stationed in Singapore, Jia-Rong works with key stakeholders to bring ICANN to the region and facilitate stakeholders to participate in multistakeholder Internet governance.

Prior to joining ICANN, Jia-Rong served at Singbridge International, a Singapore government-linked company specializing in sustainable urban development projects. A former diplomat, Jia-Rong worked for Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as First Secretary (Political) at the Singapore Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam. Jia-Rong is very familiar with the region, having represented Singapore in engaging the region’s governments such as Thailand, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

Jia-Rong holds a Diploma in International Trade Law from WTO in Geneva, Switzerland. He graduated with a Bachelor of Communications Studies at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University.

David Chui

Chief Innovation Officer, MYNIC Berhad

David joined MYNIC in Oct 2018 as the Chief Innovation Officer. He is tasked to ensure the security, resilience, and availability of the DNS operation and services to serve the .my community in the country.

Before joining MYNIC, David has worked in multiple organizations with experience ranging from advisory, training, pre-sales, support, and system integrations. He has been involved with security, virtualization, infrastructure designing, and deploying technical projects for enterprise customers.

David holds a Master’s in Business Administration, York St. John University, United Kingdom, and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Charles Sturt University. He is also a Certified Scrum Master, and IT Service Management (ITIL).s
